Mikann Shabu Restaurant

150 - 5555 Gilbert Road, Richmond, BC.

In Richmond's modern dining scene, Mikann Shabu restaurant reimagines the traditional Japanese dining experience, blending a futuristic, luxurious ambiance with nods to Japanese aesthetics. Our design unites contemporary luxury with Japanese influences to create a visually stunning and immersive dining space that celebrates both tradition and innovation.

Our design uses a rich palette of deep blacks, luxurious golds, and sleek neutrals forms the foundation of the design, conveying a sense of opulence and sophistication. These colors provide a dramatic backdrop for the interplay of materials and textures. The layout revolves around a large round counter bar, the heart of the restaurant, where diners can engage in the interactive Shabu Shabu experience. General lighting is intentionally low to create a cozy, intimate ambiance. Large decorative pendant lights suspended over the center bar provide focused task lighting for diners. The collision of new and traditional materials is a central theme. Black mirror and translucent acrylic panels contribute to the futuristic ambiance, while clay wall surfaces, real stone wall tiles, bamboo, wood, and natural stone bring warmth and authenticity to the space.
