Joy Cafe

Joy Cafe is one of the newest outposts for the Richmond-based Fortune Terrace Chinese Cuisine Restaurant Group. Offering a modern interpretation of traditional Hong Kong street food cuisine and dim-sum culture, its Chinese name ‘yue’ (悅) translates as ‘joy, happiness and light’ and heavily influences the design concept of the space. We utilized traditional design elements that evoke imagery of mountains and rivers also known as ‘shanshui’ (山水) as wall features and decor incorporating natural, West Coast materials such as local wood and clay to help accent the earthy tones of this Neo-Chinese cafe.
